iPhone 5 predictions
It’s December and 2010 is coming to a close. In January it is expected that we should get a peak at the next iPhone. Let’s call it iPhone 5. There have not been too many rumors about the expected features but here are some of mine.
There are the very predictable: faster processor, thinner and better battery life.
The wished for:
- Better notification system, similar to what we get on android.
- Wireless syncing, come on now it is about time that we can stop syncing with the desktop via a cord.
- iWork suite integration, would make this a seamless platform to manage documents (there is iWork for the ipad).
- Better voice integration, adding voice dialing and control of the music player is nice but I would really like to do google search and app launch on voice command. Apple did acquire Siri last year which does many of these.
- Near field communications (NFC), the technology that allows you to use your phone like a credit cars. Though this has not caught on yet apple may add it as it could prove to be another source if revenue.
What I do not think we will see:
- Higher resolution screen, the screen is already very good it is going to be harder to improve on it.
- 4G, I really don’t think we will see it in this version. The technology is too new the chips to big, too power hungry and too expensive. Remember the first iPhone did not have 3G for the same reasons. Flash, this is just not going to happen.
Anything I left out? Write a comment.
